Here’s your chance to join! Effective immediately, we’re looking for an A/V Engineer (all genders) to become a part of our Global Media Management & Technology team, located in Salzburg, Austria.
Job Summary
This role is responsible for supporting global media / technical operations in our Salzburg office. Primary responsibilities include performing Quality Control and editorial tasks related to audio, video, and caption assets as well as troubleshooting technical issues, as they arise.
Success in this role means maintaining exceptional aural, visual, and technical attention to detail, ensuring assets meet required standards, and contributing to reliable, efficient supply-chain operations. This position is well suited to someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, problem-solving, and working collaboratively in a fast-paced, international environment.
Job Functions
- Manage audio, video, and caption/subtitle assets across quality control, archiving, and encoding workflows
- Edit and quality check audio, video, and caption program material for subsequent productization and archive
- Review (and create) automated + manual Quality Control reports with a meticulous attention to detail
- Work closely with internal teams and record label partners to coordinate asset handling and delivery
- Monitor workflows, identify issues, and troubleshoot problems through to resolution
- Maintain accurate documentation, asset records, and database entries
- Provide responsive, professional support to internal and external stakeholders
Job Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in the media services, music production, or video post-production sectors
- Thorough working knowledge of audio/video mixing, mastering, editing, encoding, and their common failures or technical challenges
- Strong expertise and experience in audio, video, and caption-based workflows utilizing tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, DaVinci Resolve, Pro Tools, and EZTitles
- Strong familiarity with multichannel / immersive audio formats, especially Dolby Atmos and its specific software (e.g. DAR, DAAA, DACT)
- The aptitude to normalize, modify, and prepare file-based content to defined specifications
- In depth knowledge of Mac-based hardware / software and the ability to perform advanced troubleshooting with a variety of 3rd party applications
- Knowledge in the history of video capture, especially as it relates to Quality Control and archival of digital assets that were originally recorded or released in legacy formats
- Experience creating complex formulas, filtering logic, and view management in apps like Airtable and Excel
- A keen understanding of how the workflows referenced above fit into a modern, digital supply chain
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language – team language is English
- Strong ownership of assigned tasks
- Ability to provide constructive feedback
- Passion for music, film, and audiovisual content
Education
- Relevant college degree or equivalent professional experience
Additional Information
This is a 38.5-hour full-time position based in Salzburg, working closely with international colleagues across multiple territories. The role offers hands-on exposure to Universal Music Group’s global media management and advanced technology operations, with opportunities to develop operational expertise across both audio and video.
Compensation is based on the applicable Austrian collective bargaining agreement. The minimum salary is €3,155 gross per month. A market-appropriate overpayment is possible depending on qualifications and experience.
